Day 1: Travel to Amman

12/24 : A little over 11 hours and we reached London (Heathrow airport). Cleared the international xfer security lines and boarded Royal Jordanian flight to Amman (direct: 5 hrs). Sadly, we could not get seats together – so had to mingle with strangers around us which eventually turned out to be fun!
Both people we met separately, were Jordenians. It was great to exchange notes and gather good info about Amman/Petra/Jerash, what to see, what to buy and eat at local places. We arrived at Amman about 11:30 PM and immediately got greeted by the local “Meet and Assist” guy – Zaidon. He helped us get the visa (on arrival for Indian citizens) for 10JD each and quickly made our way out through immigration - baggage claims and screening. Outside the weather was pleasant – about 10C. We met our driver Afram Michael, a pretty friendly guy.
